Open Mic Poetry Night Feb. 14
Free Association Open Mic Poetry returns to GCC at 7 p.m., Feb. 14, in the Student Union room 104. Free and open to the public, this Valentine's Day edition features Ashley Naftule. A French Sagittarian with a deep aversion to seafood, Naftule writes poetry that he's performed in features at Caffeine Corridor & Conspire; scripts for a monthly kids' show for adults at Space55 called "Hollis's Traveling Tree House & Dance Party," for which he also does the puppets; sketch comedy for First Friday Night Live; articles for AZKaos, Phoenix New Times and Maximum RockNRoll; "As Above, So Below", a one-man show he performs in that premiered at the 2011 Phoenix Fringe Festival. Naftule also does improv and the occasional bit of performance art. When he's not doing art, he can be found racing purebred alpacas and teaching inner city children how to play backgammon.
