Gauchos meet Bulldogs in Dec. 3 Valley of the Sun Bowl

The 2011 Valley of the Sun Bowl matches the host Glendale Community College Gauchos against the Dean College Bulldogs. Kickoff is 1 p.m., Dec. 3 in GCC's Matt O. Hanhila stadium.

The Gauchos, making their 17th appearance in the Valley of the Sun Bowl's 30-year history, finished the season with an 8-3 record and a No. 17 ranking in the final NJCAA poll. Dean College, located in Franklin, Mass., finished its season with a 7-1 record, a No. 11 ranking and their fourth Northeast Football Conference championship in the past five years.

The Valley of the Sun Bowl is sponsored by the Maricopa County Community College District and is hosted annually by the Maricopa Community College that finishes the regular season with the best record in the Western States Football League. Tickets purchased at the gate on game day are $8 adults and $5 for seniors and students with school ID.
