Join Master Class and Pro Dancers Round Table Sept. 3
Find out what it really takes to be a professional dancer from some of the top pros in the field – Summer Lee Rhatigan, director of the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance; Alex Ketley, choreographer and artistic director, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance; and Dr. Suzanne Knosp, University of Arizona School of Dance and president of the International Guild of Musicians in Dance. A free roundtable discussion is scheduled for 1:30 – 2 p.m., Sat., Sept. 3 in the Fitness Center Dance Studio at Glendale Community College, 6000 W. Olive Ave.
"The Round Table will cover current dance trends and the experiences of Summer, Alex and Suzanne," says Andrea Hashim, GCC Dance program director. "This is a wonderful opportunity for young dancers and their parents to ask questions of those successful in the profession."
Also open to the public at no charge is a ballet technique class with Summer Lee Rhatigan from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday and Saturday, Sept. 2 and 3, in the Dance Studio. Master classes are on a first-arrived basis; be there early to secure your place.
The 2011-12 GCC Dance Master Guest Artist Series is funded by a grant from the Maricopa Center for Learning and Instruction to bring internationally renowned guest artists to campus.
