Hot Cars and Cool Features Debut at GCC
Ford picked GCC's Automotive Center to unveil its "Future of Safety Tour" June 21 from 7 – 10 a.m. Hot cars, cool technology and comforting safety features were demonstrated to the public and guests that included executives from Ford; local dealer Sanderson Ford; and Glendale Councilmembers Steve Frate, Joyce Clark and Yvonne Knaack. Part of a 50-stop, national tour, Ford's safety and techie features include cars that find a parking space and park themselves; inflating rear safety belts; and sensors designed to help prevent collisions. Those attending the event were able to test drive and experience first hand how Ford is using smart sensors – including radar, camera and wireless technologies - to develop new crash avoidance and driver assist systems that help respond to collision risks quickly.
