Value of Giving Back to Community Honor Forum Topic April 14

The public is invited for an evening of conversation at 7 p.m., April 14 in GCC's Student Union room 104 featuring a panel discussion focusing on the role of local charities, foundations and organizations to better our community. The evening moderator, Will Gonzalez, has been with the City of Phoenix Prosecutor's Office since 1996 and has embraced the philosophy of community prosecution by assisting communities in developing collaborative strategies to restore and redefine their neighborhoods. Gonzalez is a two-time recipient of the City of Phoenix Excellence Award and an active member of the Latino Institute and the Maricopa County Regional Homeless Task Force.

The panelists include Beverly Damore, Chief Communications Officer at St. Mary's Food Bank, a world-wide organization that gathers and distributes food to sites that service the hungry. There are 13 such locations in Arizona alone.

The second panelist is Marilee Dal Pra from the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust, a philanthropic organization that invests in and supports various non-profit organizations to improve the quality of life for people in Maricopa County. For details, go to
