Valley of the Sun Bowl, Dec. 5
The Glendale Community College Gauchos host Dean College from Massachusetts in the 2009 Valley of the Sun Bowl at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 5. The game takes place at Matt Hanhila Stadium on the GCC campus.Dean College comes into the Bowl game with a 9-1 record and a No. 11 National Ranking in the latest NJCAA football poll. Dean won the Northeast Conference championship this season for the third consecutive season and has an overall record of 28-3.
Glendale is appearing in the Valley of the Sun Bowl, which was first played in 1981, for the 14th time. In three of those appearances, a Bowl game victory resulted in an NJCAA National Championship for the Gauchos.
