Ticket reservations are being accepted for the Glendale Community College (GCC) Performing Arts Department's six performances of "Twelve Angry Jurors," an emotionally gripping play in which a single dissenting juror attempts to convince the others that a young man's guilt for murder is not as obvious as it seemed in court.

The play will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 13 and 14, with a matinee performance at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15. Performances also are scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 19-21. All performances are in the GCC Performing Arts Center (PAC), located at 59th and West Vogel avenues.

Tickets, which can be purchased the night of the performance at the PAC box office, are $8 for general admission and $5 for students, faculty, staff, alumni and seniors 55 and older. Valid identification is required for the discounted tickets. Advance ticket reservations are available through David Seitz at david.seitz@gcmail.maricopa.edu or by calling 623.845.3385. Tickets will be available at the box office beginning one hour prior to curtain time.

"Twelve Angry Men" was written for television in 1954 by Reginald Rose, with the stage versions adapted by Sherman L. Sergel. The story was developed into a 1957 movie titled "12 Angry Men" and starred Henry Fonda, Lee J. Cobb, Jack Klugman, E.G. Marshall, Martin Balsem and others.

"Throughout the play, there is considerable emotional drama ranging from ridicule to acceptance and from anger to consolation," said David Seitz, GCC drama faculty who is directing the play. "Attitudes such as bigotry are seen as motivation rather than the search for truth. The play truly explores how, in the heat of the jury room, a single voice can tip the scales of justice."
