Creative-writing students from each of the 10 colleges in the Maricopa Community College District (MCCD) will present their works during "New Voices Reading" at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, in Room 104E of the Student Union on GCC's main campus, 6000 W. Olive Ave., Glendale.

Sponsored by the MCCD Creative Writing Programs, the two-hour event provides creative-writing students – all of whom have been chosen by their respective college faculty – a forum to share their written works. The public is welcome, and light refreshments will be served.

Additional information is available by contacting GCC English faculty Johnnie Clemens May at johnnie.may@gcmail.maricopa.edu or by calling her at 623.845.3538.

Open registration begins Monday, Oct. 26, for spring-semester classes at GCC, the GCC North campus at 5727 W. Happy Valley Road, Phoenix, and GCC courses at the Communiversity @ Surprise, 15950 W. Civic Center Plaza, Surprise.

To register, go to http://www.My.maricopa.edu, click on "Find a Class" and check the appropriate boxes for "Spring 2010" and "Glendale (GCC)."
