After recording an all-time high in full-time student equivalency at the start of the fall semester, Glendale Community College (GCC) looks toward continued strong enrollment when open registration for the spring 2010 semester begins for all students on Monday, Oct. 26.
The spring semester gets under way for weekend classes on Saturday, Jan. 16, and continues for other courses beginning Tuesday, Jan. 19, following the previous day's Martin Luther King, Jr., birthday observance. GCC offers classes at its main campus at 6000 W. Olive Ave., Glendale, at the GCC North campus at 5727 W. Happy Valley Road, Phoenix, and the Communiversity @ Surprise, 15950 W. Civic Center Plaza, Surprise.
To assist new and continuing students with registration, GCC's Enrollment Center at the main campus is open during its regular hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Assistance also is available by calling 623.845.3333.
Students are encouraged to register early to secure their enrollment in classes that fill quickly and maximizing convenience for their individual schedules. Additionally, early registration enables students to complete required placement tests for English, mathematics and reading courses.
Registration also can be completed by going to http://My.maricopa.edu, clicking on "Find a Class" and then clicking on "Spring 2010" under "Semester" and "Glendale" under "Colleges." For GCC classes at the Communiversity @ Surprise, follow the same steps and add "Surprise" in "Keywords/Course Number."
Additional information about the college can be viewed at http://www.gccaz.edu or by calling the main switchboard at 623.845.3000 for referral to the appropriate office.
