Registration continues for the second five-week session of summer day and evening classes that begin after the Independence Day holiday in a variety of core and elective subjects at both campuses of Glendale Community College (GCC).

Classes for Summer II run from Tuesday, July 7, through Thursday, Aug. 6. Placement tests are required for English, mathematics and reading courses, so early registration is encouraged.

In addition, registration is under way for the fall semester that begins for weekend classes on Saturday, Aug. 22, and Monday, Aug. 24, for weekday and evening courses. Likewise, early registration is encouraged in order to complete required placement tests and to secure seats in classes that best accommodate student schedules.

"Classes at both GCC campuses create opportunities for students to earn credits to advance in their careers, transfer to university or simply to enjoy lifestyle enrichment," said Mary Blackwell, dean of Enrollment Services.

For specific course descriptions, class schedules and on-line registration, visit my.maricopa.edu and click on "Find a Class" along the top of the page. Along the left side of the screen, check the desired college and Summer II or Fall 2009. The site also lists space availability within classes. Please note class offerings vary by GCC's main campus at 6000 W. Olive Ave., Glendale, and GCC North at 5727 W. Happy Valley Road, Phoenix.

Additional enrollment information is available by calling the GCC Enrollment Center at 623.845.3333.
