GCC to Host Information Session Feb. 18 for Study Abroad Programs

Anyone interested in studying abroad is invited to attend a free information session at Glendale Community College at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, in the GCC Student Union, room SU-104A. Two summer 2009 Study Abroad sessions in Prague, Czech Republic, will be presented. Each session offers four courses from which to choose, and participants may take as many of the courses as they wish.

The Summer I session is June 1 through July 2 and offers: Literature and Film, World Economics Systems, Rock Music and Culture, and Political Ideologies. Mesa Community College manages this session; the MCC contact person is Keith Heffner at 480.461.7450.

The Summer II session is July 6 through August 7 and offers: Renaissance through Contemporary Art, Political Ideologies, Psychology of Religion, and International Marketing Management. Gateway Community College manages this session; the GWCC contact person is Susan Mills at 602.286.8487.

All classes may be taken for college credit or simply for personal interest.

The February 18 information session at GCC will cover costs, travel, lodging (provided and included in program cost) and much more. Among the presenters will be Dr. Ruth Callahan and Mr. John Gibson, both GCC faculty members who have been to Prague and will be able to answer questions. Dr. Callahan has been to Prague on several occasions both as a participant in conferences and a classroom teacher.

GCC is located at 59th and Olive Avenues in Glendale. The Student Union is on the south side of the campus, off Olive Avenue. Parking is free.
