Ground was broken Jan. 14 at Glendale Community College for a new Public Safety Services building, which will be completed in approximately one year. The building will house Administration of Justice, Emergency Medical Technology, Fire Science and Law Enforcement Operations studies. It will be a two-story, state-of-the-art building which will house not only classrooms and faculty offices, but also specialized training facilities such as an outer wall designed as a practice wall for fire students to scale and rappel.
Dignitaries from GCC, the Maricopa County Community College District, Substance Design, and FCI Construction attended the event. This building was made possible by MCCCD's 2004 Bond election, which was passed overwhelmingly by Maricopa County voters.
