Noises Off is a farce in three acts. A play within a play, it begins with a troop of "has-been" and "never-were" actors in their frantic, final rehearsal of the sex farce Nothing On. As the melee of actors stumble through their lines, they are tossed about by a whirlwind of calamities—from missing contact lenses and misplaced sardines to philandering lovers and a lethally swinging ax. They collide catastrophically in a real-life sex farce that parallels the play they're appearing in...till at last, according to the script "in open revolt against each other and their production—the actors rewrite and sabotage every line in their script, wrestle their recalcitrant props to the ground and even contend with an understudy who suddenly assumes the role in mid-performance."
Performing in Noises Off should be a hilarious experience and a nice addition to a résumé, so mark the dates and plan to audition at GCC!
