Crow and Weasel, a Native American "coming of age" story to intrigue the whole family, will be presented by Glendale Community College in its Performing Arts Center (PAC) six times in October. Directed by Theater Professor Virginia Ludders, the play will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18; and at 2 p.m. on Oct. 12.
Crow and Weasel unfolds at a time in North America during which all the elements of creation could understand each other's language, a time when virtue lay in listening. It is not based on any particular Native American story, but on treasured Native American values–the importance of gift exchange, consideration of the needs of community over individual desires, and cultivation of a spiritual awareness of the world. This is a family play but is not recommended for infants or toddlers.
Tickets may be purchased at the PAC theater box office (at the door) one hour prior to all performances. Ticket prices for students of all ages with student ID are $5; senior citizens and military $7, and general public $8.
GCC is located at 59th and Olive Avenues in Glendale. The PAC is in the northeast quadrant of the campus, off of 59th Avenue at Vogel Ave.
Crow and Weasel is adapted for the stage by Jim Leonard, Jr. from a story by Barry Lopez. Music is by John Luther Adams.
