College students from any school are invited to Glendale Community College on September 17 to meet with a Disney representative to learn about and apply for paid internships for 2009. Disney is hiring for both the California and Florida theme parks.
This public information/application session will be held in the GCC Student Union (SU) Building, room SU-104A. Disney recruiter Elaine Bolivar will present highlights of the Disney College Program at 3 p.m. GCC is located at 6000 W. Olive Avenue in Glendale. (Olive is Dunlap Avenue in Phoenix.) Free parking is available.
There will be no applications forms available at the presentation, so interested students MUST print out and complete an application (found at www.disneycollegeprogram.com along with more information about these highly prized internships) and bring it to the presentation. They should also bring an updated copy of their résumé. Professional dress is highly recommended. The time frame for Walt Disney World (Florida) internships is January-May OR January-August, 2009. The time frame for internships at Disneyland (California) is January-August, 2009, only. Disney also offers online business courses for credit, which students can take during their internships.
Interns are paid $6.79 to $11.50 an hour, depending on the specific job and location. Interns at both locations have access to nearby, quality housing made available to them at low cost by Disney.
Over the years, many Disney interns have been hired through GCC presentations, and many of those have gone on to obtain permanent positions with Disney through this nationally recognized program. Call 623.845.3286 or 623.845.3283 for more information about this event.
