Bring the family to a FREE, exciting, toe-tapping, acoustic gypsy jazz concert at Glendale Community College, 6000 W. Olive Avenue in Glendale, on Friday, Sept. 12, at 7:30 p.m.
Experience gypsy jazz as you've never heard it before when the Django-inspired group
Hot Club of Phoenix
are joined by Albuquerque's
Le Chat Lunatique.
This explosive night will feature music with influences and styles which include gypsy jazz, western swing, tango, reggae and bebop. Concert will include music by Django Reinhardt, Astor Piazzolla and gypsy swing originals.
Hot Club of Phoenix, led by guitarist Chuck Hulihan, has appeared recently at the Chandler Jazz Festival, the Rhythm Room and the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. Le Chat Lunatique recently received the "best jazz song" award for "Miss Lady" from their new CD Demonic Lady. Their live performances mix reggae and western swing for that hot club sound.
The concert will be held in the GCC Performing Arts Center (PAC) which is located in the northeast quadrant of the campus. Visit www.gccaz.edu/map for a map of the campus.
As a service to the community, admission to this exciting concert is FREE.
