Lorrie Henry, the fitness host of ABC Television's weight loss show "Fat March," will be the guest speaker at Glendale Community College's GCC Spring Speaker Series on Wednesday, Apr. 9, at 12:00 noon. Ms. Henry has made appearances on "Good Morning America," "Fox News & Friends," and the local Phoenix show "Sonoran Living Live." Her topic is "Obesity in America: What is Our Responsibility as Fitness Professionals to Change It and How?" The presentation is FREE and open to the public.
Henry is an alumna (2005) of Glendale Community College. Today, she works with organizations such as the YMCA, Arizona Diabetes Association, and the Heart Foundation to teach people simple and basic habits of weight management. She attributes her incredible sense of discipline to her four years in the Marine Corps, overcoming life in an orphanage until age 9, and struggling with her own weight until she lost 70 pounds.
The presentation will be held in the Student Union building on the GCC campus, in Room SU-104E. Glendale Commmunity College is located at 59th Avenue and Olive Avenue in Glendale. For more information, contact the college's Alumni Association Office at (623)845-3147.
