Public Invited to GCC Celebration of Chinese New Year, Feb. 20

Martial arts demonstrations, Dragon Dance, Chinese food and more can be enjoyed for free by the public at the Glendale Community College Student Union, room SU 104-E, on Wed., Feb. 20 between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Calligraphy and Chinese painting demonstrations will continue throughout the entire time frame; other activities are as follows:

Martial arts demos: 9:15-10:00 a.m.

Significance of the Lunar New Year: 10:05-10:20 a.m.

Chinese Classical Dance: 10:25-10:35 a.m.

Chinese Fashions shown by GCC students: 10:40-10:50 a.m.

Yo-yo demo; Baby Lion Dance; Dragon Dance: 10:55-11:10 a.m.

Chinese Classical Dance: 11:15-11:25 a.m.

Martial art demos: 11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

Traditional Chinese food and desserts: 12:00 -1:00 p.m.

Free Faculty Art Exhibit at GCC, Mar. 3-25

Art faculty members at Glendale Community College will exhibit their work at the annual GCC Faculty Art Exhibit Mon., Mar. 3 through Tue., Mar. 25. It will be held in room SU-104 of the GCC Student Union, 6000 W. Olive Avenue in Glendale. The opening reception, with refreshments, will be from 4-6 p.m. on Mar. 3. The exhibit is a showcase of individual artistic visions of faculty members of the GCC Art Department. The Student Union Building is open from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily. The exhibit and parking are free.
