Carbine Operator I LEO287AA
A basic class on
the operation and deployment of the carbine in law enforcement operations.
Includes basic operation concepts, weapon accessories, ballistics and
qualification.
Class is 16
hours in length and is AzPOST approved for 16 hours of continuing or proficiency
training.
Class format: Two contiguous days. Day one is
Costs: 1 credit hour plus $35 course fee. There is also
a $15 registration fee if you are not currently enrolled at GCC. (See the Advanced

Class
Requirements: Must be a certified
peace officer, military or corrections officer. (I.D. will be checked on first day of
class.) Students must provide a suitable shoulder fired firearm and the
officer's primary sidearm. (A .223 caliber or centerfire pistol caliber
semiautomatic carbine.) 600 rounds of ammunition for the shoulder weapon and 50
rounds of ammunition for the officer's sidearm will be needed. Standard safety
equipment (eye and ear protection and a billed cap); knee and elbow protection
(optional).
