AzPOST Drug Usage Guidelines

• No illegal use of marijuana within the last three years.

• The use of marijuana may not exceed 20 total times of use to be considered experimentation or a total of five times at age 21 or over.

• The use of dangerous drugs or narcotics, other than marijuana may not exceed five times total use or one time since age 21.

• A person shall not have illegally used dangerous drugs or narcotics, other than marijuana for any purpose within the past seven years.  

These are guidelines only and may be deviated from if a law enforcement agency requests a review from the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board.  However, since the Academy cannot present items for review, no promises can be made regarding potential for a Board waiver if usage exceeds that listed above.
