Academy Costs - Sponsored Cadets
Class Start Dates
A new Academy class starts each semester. The Academy classes start the first Sunday of March and the first Sunday in August.Spring Semester Classes - The classes starting in March meet two nights a week (Mon. and Tue., 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm), all day Sunday (6:30 am to 5 pm) and seven Saturdays (8 am to 5 pm).
Fall Semester Classes - The classes starting in August meet two nights a week (Wed. and Thur., 6:30 pm to 10:30 pm), and all day Sunday (6:30 am to 5 pm) and seven Saturdays (8 am to 5 pm).
Costs - The Academy is 17 credit hours the first semester and 13 credit hours the second semester. Presently the cost of tuition is $71 per credit hour. There is also a $15 registration fee each semester, $150 lab fee for the first semester and a $100 lab fee for the second semester. Total cost for the first semester is $1,372.00; second semester would be $1,038.00. Some agencies reimburse the cadets for successful completion of the program. If financial aid is needed, please contact that department at the college at least 16 weeks prior to starting the program.
Most agencies do not supply equipment such as uniforms, firearm, leather gear and handcuffs. Those usually are supplied by the cadet.
The agency or the cadet must also supply 1,400 rounds of practice ammunition and 100 rounds of duty equivalent ammunition.
