Carbine Operator II LEO287AB
An advanced
class on the operation and deployment of the carbine in law enforcement
operations. Weapon retention techniques, position shooting, shooting with
movement, extensive low light firing, close quarters applications and
qualification.
Class is 16
hours in length and is AzPOST approved for continuing or proficiency training.
Class format: Two contiguous days.
Costs: 1 credit hour plus $35 course fee. There is also
a $15 registration fee if you are not currently enrolled at GCC. (See the

Class
Requirements: Must be a certified
peace officer. (I.D. will be checked on first day of class.) Students must
provide a suitable shoulder fired firearm and the officer's primary sidearm. (A
.223 caliber or centerfire pistol caliber semiautomatic carbine.) 800 rounds of
ammunition and two magazines (minimum) for the shoulder weapon and 50 rounds of
ammunition for the officer's sidearm will be needed. Standard safety equipment
(eye and ear protection and a billed cap); knee and elbow protection (optional
- but highly recommended.).
