Firearms II (AJS153)
Firearms II is an extension to Firearms I. In this class, the shooting distances are extended, the time is shortened, position shooting is included as are defensive tactics. This is for the person serious about carrying a firearm as a defensive tool. Class is held at the range with no formal classroom sessions.
Cost: The class is 1 credit hour and there is a $35 lab fee to pay for range fees, supplies and targets. If you are not registered for a class at GCC, there is also a $15 registration fee.
What firearm may I use: Any semiautomatic pistol or revolver may be used. For best results, .380ACP and larger calibers are recommended.
May I borrow a firearm: Yes. Firearms in caliber 9mm are made available for students needing one. Simply notify the instructor at the beginning of the first day of class. You will need to purchase 400 rounds of factory USA manufactured 9mm ammunition, since the college does not supply ammunition nor is it available at the range.
Student requirements: Pistol or revolver (one may be borrowed from the instructor), strong side belt holster, 400 rounds of ammunition, eye protection, ear protection (school has some available if needed) and cap with a bill to protect the face.
Prerequisites: Firearms I course completed or an Arizona Concealed Weapons Permit.
