Precision Rifle Concepts (AJS140AB)
A basic class on the operation and deployment of the precision rifle in law enforcement operations. Includes basic operation concepts, ballistic considerations and skill development.
Class is 16 hours in length and is AzPOST approved for 16 hours of continuing or proficiency training for law enforcement officers.
Class format: Two contiguous days at the range. Day one is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and day two is 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Costs: 1 credit hour plus $35 lab fee. There is also a $15 registration fee if you are not currently enrolled at GCC.
Student Requirements: Students must provide a suitable shoulder fired firearm. (A centerfire bolt action rifle equipped with a telescopic sight is the most common weapon used, but semiautomatic rifles have also been used.) 140 rounds of quality ammunition will be needed. Standard safety equipment (eye and ear protection), a billed cap, cleaning supplies (rod, brushes, patches, etc.), knee and elbow protection (optional). Attendees may also want to consider a mat for prone shooting, spotting scope and a shooting sling.
