Patrol Rifle Concepts (AJS140AA)

Patrol Rifle

A basic class on the operation and deployment of the carbine in law enforcement operations. Includes basic operation concepts as well as deployment methods and purposes.

Class is 16 hours in length and is AzPOST approved for 16 hours of continuing or proficiency training for law enforcement officers.

Class format: Two contiguous days at the range. Day one is 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and day two is 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Costs: 1 credit hour plus $35 course fee. There is also a $15 registration fee if you are not currently enrolled at GCC.

Student Requirements: Students must provide a suitable shoulder fired firearm. (A .223, 7.62mm x 39mm caliber or centerfire pistol caliber semiautomatic carbine.) 500 rounds of ammunition. Sidearm with holster and 50 rounds for that weapon. Standard safety equipment (eye and ear protection and a billed cap), knee and elbow protection (optional).

Class Location: MCSO Range located at 26900 W. Buckeye Hills Drive, Buckeye. West on 1-10 to US 85 and go south on US 85 (as if going to San Diego). The Buckeye Hills Recreation area is exactly 10 miles south of I-10 and Buckeye Hills Drive is just south of milepost 144. Turn west and go past the public range about 1/4 mile to the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office Range.
