Student Guide to IT Resources

When a student considers an education at GCC, how do they find out what kind of technology resources are available to help them? How can a new student discover the technology resources available to them to enhance their education?

The “Student Guide to Information Technology” is a resource based on content developed by EDUCAUSE in cooperation with the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO). It is designed to answer questions related to Information Technology at GCC.

The Guide is available in printed form and online. The printed materials are ideal for high school recruitment and will be a valuable tool in student orientations. Instructors can include the link in syllabi or other online resources.

The information contained in the Guide covers many topics such as:

• How does the campus use technology to enhance teaching and learning in your areas of interest?
• Will you use technology to collaborate with other students in both your introductory and advanced courses?
• What technology resources and help are available to students with special needs?
• What personal information can you view online—your contact information, grades, degree progress, financial status, or other information?
• What public access for computing is available to students?
