Pay for Print is coming this Fall to a GCC computer lab near you!

We are pleased to announce our new Pay for Print system, which is being installed in the Computer Commons areas of High Tech 1, High Tech 2 and the Library for the Fall 2009 semester. For Phase One black and white printing, we plan to have two printer release stations available in the Library, two stations in High Tech 2, and eight stations in High Tech 1. The cost to print will be 10¢ per page. We are hoping also to have a color printer release station in the Library. The cost of color prints will continue to be $1 per page, as it currently is from Library Media. There will be two charging stations available, one in HT1 and one in the Library.

Student and community users will need to have a GCC ID card to use this new service. To add money to their account, they will insert their ID card and the money into one of the charging stations. To print, they will send their jobs to the queue from the computer they are logged on to. When they are ready to retrieve their print jobs, they will go to one of the release stations and use their ID to release their jobs.

We are excited to have this new tool to help us control printing cost and waste, and help students make better printing choices.
