GCC’s Helpdesk Web Pages are getting a new look?

One outcome of the reorganization of the OIT department is that the Student and Employee Helpdesks have been combined into a single GCC Helpdesk. To reflect this, College Application Services is busy working to merge the contents from both Helpdesk web sites into one and give it a fresh look. The new appearance is consistent with the look and feel of GCC’s main web pages. Its final form will be a network of linked resources designed to encourage users to help themselves and answer their own questions.

The first area to be updated is the former Student Helpdesk web site, which contains the eGCC account information. This section was converted first because the migration of employees from Novell to eGCC will be completed soon. Then everyone associated with GCC will have an eGCC account, and can find the facts and advice about managing their eGCC account useful.

In the coming weeks, the material from the old Employee Helpdesk will be integrated into the new format. This updated design will be used as a template for plugging in existing content, adding more information and linking it all together. The objective is to give faculty, staff and students web access to all the OIT technical data, documents and tutorials they require to monitor and manage their own accounts and projects.

The new look of the Helpdesk Web Pages is just the beginning of a consolidated, easy-to-use collection of the tech resources you need.
