The Occupational Health and Safety (OSH) Coordinator is primarily responsible for the health and safety of GCC employees and assists in the enforcement of federal/state regulations, and District policies. In addition to maintaining safety reports, the OHS Coordinator, in part: Works with federal and state regulatory agencies such as Arizona Occupational Safety and Health Administration (ADOSH/OSHA) Arizona Reformed Code (ARS), Uniform Fire Code, Uniform Building Code, Arizona Department of Environment Quality (ADEQ/EPA), to ensure safety measures have been met. Assesses and evaluates occupational health and safety programs Schedules safety classes, and maintains training records Provides support and assistance for workers' compensation claims Maintains First Aid Kits Provides support and assistance for ADA Claims If you witness any unsafe practices, please inform the OSH Coordinator or Public Safety as soon as possible. Remember, as you perform your daily duties, always keep safety in mind. Avoid unsafe practices as keeping unattended file drawers open, using chairs as ladders, opening doors too quickly, and the improper use of personal appliances. If are hurt at work, no matter how minor you think you injury is, report it to your supervisor immediately.
