Types of Temporary Employees
The Onboarding Team's main responsibility is to in-process and maintain new hire and returning temporary employees. Temporary employees typically fall into three categories:Budget employees are defined as temporary non work study workers whose salaries arepaid from the employee's department budget. All new and returning budget employees must in-process through Employee Resources before reporting to their departments. In-processing usually takes approximately 30 minutes. Work Study employees are defined as students who work on campus on a part-time basis only. There salary is paid from the federal financial aid program. Adjunct Instructors and Substitute Faculty are defined as temporary part-time instructors temporary workers whose salary is paid from the employee's department budget. All new and returning adjuncts must in-process through Employee Resources . In-processing usually takes approximately 30-45 minutes.
