What other MCCD colleges are doing:

Mesa Community College: MCC has implemented a pay for print solution based on the use of an ID card as print card. Money is applied to either an ID card or a plain print card ($1 for a card) from a self serve station in the commons area. Clients send print jobs to a designated bank of printers during their work session. To release a print job, a client uses the designated print release station, entering their print code as well as their ID (or print) card. The client can then select the jobs to be released and charged to their card. There are no free number of prints and students pay cost of 10¢ per printed B&W page - color printing is available from the Library Media Center at an extra fee. Monies charged to these cards are stored on the card - therefore if the card is lost, so are the monies that were added to the card.

Paradise Valley Community College: Students use their student ID card as a debit card when printing. Students apply money from designated charge stations on campus and print for a cost of 10 cents per side of each black/white page and $1 per side of each color page. For FAQs, go to http://www.pvc.maricopa.edu/printing/faqs.html

Phoenix College: Students can use their student ID card to print from the Library or the computer commons computers. Money is applied to the card at a charge station which takes bills or coins. The card is then used at any of the designated print release stations. If users have lost or forgotten their ID card, there is also a cash operated release station. PC does not provide any free prints. Students pay cost of 8¢ per printed side if they use the ID card release station, 10¢ per side if they use the cash release station. Color printing is also available at $1 per printed side.
