Apply to Graduate
Applying for graduation is required to be awarded your degree or certificate. Please follow the below steps to complete the application process.
Graduation Application Deadlines
- Fall Graduation - Last Friday in November
- Spring Graduation - Last Friday in March
- Summer Graduation - Last Friday in July
- All fall graduates, and summer graduates who apply before the last Friday in March, will be invited to participate in the spring commencement ceremony.
*Applications submitted after a semester’s deadline may not be processed until the next semester.
Step 1 – Verify Your Academic Records are Complete and Correct
- Verify that Non-Maricopa Transfer Credit has been posted to GGC records
- View your Transfer Credit Report by going to the Academic Records Tile in your Student Center
- Where to send Incoming Transcripts.
- Verify your mailing address is correct
- Go to the Profile Tile in your Student Center
- Verify graduation requirements have been met
- Check your Degree Progress Report by going to the Academic Progress tile in your Student Center.
- If you have any questions, please contact your advisor. Fill out our Advisement Intake form to schedule an appointment.
Step 2 - Submit Your Graduation Application
- Complete the Online Graduation Application
- There is no fee to submit the Online Graduation Application
- You may apply for multiple credentials using the same form. (If you are applying for more than one AAS, a separate form may be needed).
- Students may earn more than one degree or certificate of different types, however, a student may only earn one degree of the same type, regardless of emphasis. (For example, a student may earn an AA and an AS, but may not earn and AA AND an AA, with an emphasis.)
What Happens Next?
- GCC will review your Graduation Application
- Updates will be sent to your Maricopa email as your application is completing the review process
- After the Final Grade Due Date for your graduation semester has passed, GCC will verify your graduation eligibility
- Applicants who have COMPLETED all degree requirements will be awarded within 6 weeks of final grades being posted.
- Applicants who have NOT COMPLETED all degree requirements will need to continue enrollment and re-apply for graduation in a future semester.
- Diplomas will be mailed through USPS to the address listed in the Student Center.

Participation in the spring commencement ceremony is optional. A cap and gown are required if you are participating in the ceremony. There is no fee to apply for a certificate/degree.
