When asked how much they were involved with the college during their first semester, FYE students reported that they were more involved than other first-year, full-time students in the following ways:
- Talked about what they learned outside of class
- Met with other students to study on or off campus
- Used campus tutoring services
Research indicates that students who are more involved with college life tend to stay in college longer and earn higher grades.
