Orientations for GCC North Fitness Center Students
Drop in for a free orientation any time. This is required for all new Fitness Center students. The orientation takes about 15-20 minutes.

Personal Training
The Fitness Center offers affordable one-on-one fitness training by certified personal trainers. Register for one or six sessions in the
current schedule, bring your paid receipt to the Fitness Center and schedule your appointment.

Credit Sections
The Fitness Center at North offers credit classes to students. Students may exercise during Fitness Center hours or take select group fitness classes and accumulate time towards a letter grade or pass/no credit. Please see

Orientations
- Newly registered students are required to have an orientation.
- Orientation includes completion of the health history form, blood pressure and heart rate screenings, Fitness Center policy overview and a tour of the facility.
- Meet at the front desk of the North Fitness Center for all orientations.
- A medical release is required if you have any known disease, including heart problems, stroke, high blood pressure, diabetes, anemia, epilepsy, asthma, and orthopedic problems.

Policies & Procedures
Parking:
Parking is available on the east and west sides of the Fitness Center. Parking decals are not required.
ID Cards:
GCC ID cards are required to workout. ID cards are available in the Enrollment Center. There is no charge for initial ID cards. Replacement cards are $4.00.
Logging in and out with your GCC ID card is our only way of recording visits. Workouts will not be counted unless proper procedures are followed. If you do not ask to be logged out, your hours will be edited to 15 minutes.
Orientations:
Orientations are required for all newly registered students.
Age Requirements:
The minimum age for Fitness Center enrollment is 13. A paid, exercising adult must accompany those under 16 years of age. Children are not permitted to wait in the reception area while parents are working out.
Ammenities:
Towels are provided at the front desk for workouts.
Lockers are available for valuables and personal items. Only keys may be kept at the front desk with your ID.
Gym Etiquette:
Cell phones are prohibited on the Fitness Center floor. Please log out and excuse yourself to the reception area if you must make or receive a cell phone call.
Food & drink are not permitted in the Fitness Center at any time. Water is the only beverage permitted and must be kept in a spill-proof container.

Dress Requirements
- Wear athletic clothing when working out. Clothing must be clean, non-revealing and in good repair. No jeans, belts or exposed metal.
- T-shirts and tank tops are allowed but may not reveal the mid abdomen and/or chest. No halter tops or half shirts. Sleeve openings may not be more than 4" below the armpit (check with Fitness Center instructor if you have questions).
- Athletic footwear is required. No open-toe shoes, sandals, slippers, boots, dance shoes or shoes with metal hook eyelets
