Fitness Center Policies and Procedures

Getting Started:

Available Parking

Parking decal stickers are not required for students.   Parking is available on the east and west side of The Fitness Center.

A GCC picture ID card is required to work out in the Fitness Center. ID cards are available in the Enrollment Center (C Building). There is no charge for the original ID card. Replacement cards cost $4.00

All newly registered Fitness Center students must have an orientation before working out. Logging in and out is our only way of recording visits. Workouts will not be counted unless proper procedures are followed. If you do not ask to be logged out of the Fitness Center your hours will be edited to 15 minutes.

The minimum age for Fitness Center enrollment is 13. A paid, exercising adult must accompany students between 13 and 15 years of age. Children are not permitted to wait in the reception area while parents are working out.

Towels are provided at the front desk for workouts. Please do not remove them from the Fitness Center. Lockers are available in the locker rooms for your valuables and personal items. Keys may be kept with your ID at the front desk of the Fitness Center. We will only hold keys and ID cards.

Avoid using your cell phone while using The Fitness Center.

Food & Drink are not permitted in the Fitness Center at any time.

Water is the only beverage permitted and must be kept in a spill-proof container.

Dress requirements:

·   Athletic clothing is required when working out. Clothing must be clean, non-revealing and in good repair. No jeans, belts or exposed metal.

·   T-shirts and tank tops are allowed but may not reveal the mid abdomen and/or chest. No halter tops or half shirts. Sleeve openings may not be more than 4" below the armpit (check with Fitness Center instructor if you have questions).

·   Athletic footwear is required. No open-toe shoes, sandals, slippers, boots, dance shoes or shoes with metal hook eyelets
