Always bring your GCC ID card to class!
Your grade is based on the number of hours you worked out in the PowerHouse. You log hours by scanning your GCC ID card.
Class Participation
The Powerhouse Instructor has the professional responsibility and right to not permit a student to participate in class, if in the professional opinion of the instructor, the student's physical ability is unsafe to themselves or others.
Course Objectives
- Learn skills for success and self-improvement in physical fitness and wellness through self-motiviation, goal setting and discipline.
- Learn the proper form, techniques and safety measures for all of the weight training exercises the student plans to use.
- Understand the fundamental aspects of a typical weight training workout, to include the warm-up, proper stretches, the workout plan and proper cool-down methods.

Develop and practice in a supervised environment, a personalized program that is complete, effective and safe.
Dress requirements
Food & Drink are not permitted in the Powerhouse at any time.
Water is the only beverage permitted and must be kept in a spill-proof container.
- Wear athletic clothing when working out. Clothing must be clean, non-revealing and in good repair. No jeans, belts or exposed metal.
- T-shirts and tank tops are allowed but may not reveal the mid abdomen and/or chest. No halter tops or half shirts. Sleeve openings may not be more than 4" below the armpit (check with instructor if you have questions).

Athletic footwear is required. No open-toe shoes, sandals, slippers, boots, dance shoes or shoes with metal hook eyelets
Grading Information
Students have two grading options: a letter grade (A-F), or pass/no credit (P/Z). Note: The grade option can only be changed during the first 14 days of the semester!
Last day to work out for a Letter-Grade (A-F) class: May 8, 2008
Last day to work out for a Non-Credit (P/Z) class: May 8, 2008

Locks and Lockers
Free locks and lockers are available in the men's and women's locker rooms. During summer aerobics students must provide their own locks. Bring your GCC ID card to the assistant in the equipment cage of the locker rooms. Please leave all of your valuables at home or in your locker. Do not bring them to class.
