Explore advanced technical aspects of maintaining and servicing computers. Emphasis placed on OS installation, maintenance, mobile devices, security, software troubleshooting, and on proper usage of tools, safety procedures, and professionalism. Helps prepare students for the CompTIA A+ examinations. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in CIS105 or permission of Instructor.

BPC275: CompTIA Exam Prep – 2 credits

Focuses on reviewing key concepts, practicing skills and preparing to successfully demonstrate existing knowledge on CompTIA certification exams. The course is designed to provide an overview of exam topics, study and test-taking strategies. It also will include structured study time, group discussions, and the use of practice exams to assess test readiness. Note: Students should be finishing a CompTIA class, looking for CompTIA certificate renewal, or have industry or other prior training in CompTIA topics and concepts. BPC275 may be repeated for a total of six (6) credit hours. Prerequisites: A grade of C or better in BPC170, or BPC270, or permission of the Instructor.
