EDU 250:
Overview of the Community Colleges
The Maricopa County Community College District requires that Adjunct Faculty complete EDU 250 – Overview of the Community Colleges - or equivalent within two years of date of hire (Adjunct Faculty Policy Manual, Section 2.1.1.4). Dual Enrollment instructors must also meet the EDU 250 requirement.
If you have already taken EDU 250 or an equivalent course, please provide GCC Employee Resources with appropriate documentation (i.e., transcripts, certificate of completion).
At the time of hire as an adjunct faculty member by MCCCD, a person who has taught at least 30 semester hours of community college level classes, and/or worked as a faculty member at an accredited college for one year (full time) is exempt from the requirement to take EDU 250.
Although not currently available at GCC, EDU 250 is offered at other MCCCD colleges (Rio Salado, Mesa, Estrella Mountain), and taught in various formats (internet, print based course with audio cassettes).
