Responsibilities
GCC Department Chair/Faculty Responsibilities
- Approve course offerings, curriculum and competencies in conjunction with high school division chair.
- Supply a syllabus template to dual enrollment instructor.
- Evaluate high school instructors in a manner consistent with faculty policies.
- Approve dual enrollment textbooks.
- Provide a Dual Enrollment Advisor as a point of contact for high school communication, correspondence, and relations.
- Deliver course rosters and final grade rosters.
High School Dual Faculty Responsibilities
- Meet instructor certification requirements by promptly providing:
- Official transcripts to Glendale Community College.
- Current résumé, unofficial transcripts and employee data form to GCC Department Chair by the date designated by the college.
- Comply with ARS Statutes and IGA related to dual enrollment. (See
Arizona Revised Statute 15-1821.01 in Word format.)
- Ensure high school students meet eligibility requirements.
- Verify that students in a dual enrollment course shall be currently enrolled at the high school for a full-time instructional program as defined in Arizona Revised Statues 15-901 in addition to the college course or courses. High school seniors who satisfy high school graduation requirements with less than a full-time instructional program shall be exempt from this requirement.
- Ensure all students meet required course prerequisites prior to enrolling.
- Ensure that high school students are juniors or seniors.
- Assist in communicating Dual Enrollment information to students.
- File a course syllabus with GCC Department Chair.
- Teach to MCCCD competencies and maintain college-level standards in the course.
- Establish attendance policies for dual enrollment course.
- Submit required enrollment documents by deadline date:
- Withdrawal notices.
- 45th Day Cleanup roster.
- Final grade roster.
- Initial enrollment roster.
