My Biography

Dave Schmidt is the Director of Jazz Studies and instructor of Studio Music Recording classes at Glendale Community College. He received his Bachelor of Music Education from Indiana University where he studied saxophone with Dr. Eugene Rousseau and jazz with David Baker. His Masters degree was earned from Arizona State University where he studied saxophone with Dr. Joseph Wytko and jazz with Chuck Marohnic. While at GCC Dave has consistently produced first rate Jazz Ensembles that have received top accolades from local and national jazz festivals. As a performer, Dave has had the privilege of performing professionally with national touring groups as well as top notch local acts. Dave is also busy as a clinician and adjudicator for local jazz festivals throughout the state.
