GCC’s Center for Teaching Learning and Engagement fosters student success by supporting the college’s employees.  The Center:

  • Facilitates and encourages professional development of all employees;
  • Provides networking opportunities for all employees to build a sense of community and collaboration;
  • Provides technology support and workshops to enhance personal skills, teaching, and learning;
  • Encourages classroom research into new instructional strategies, methods, and innovations;
  • Encourages scholarly research;
  • Promotes research-based best practices in pedagogy and andragogy;
  • Encourages employees to reflect on their own practices, to gain new insights, and learn new ideas and strategies from each other.


The Vision of the CTLE is to be the cornerstone of campus learning and professional development for all GCC employees. The CTLE serves as a place to share ideas, explore new approaches, inspire innovation and excellence, and interact with peers around issues of professional development and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
