About the NAU Speech Communication Program
This is a 2+2 Partnership Program.
Glendale Community College and Northern Arizona University work together to offer a full Bachelors degree in Speech Communication. Students complete the first 2 years of general
education coursework at Glendale Community College. Northern
Arizona University will offer the junior and senior level classes on
the campus of Glendale Community College.
Program Highlights
- Students can earn the B.S. in Speech Communication without leaving the GCC campus.
- Students can start any semester.
- Courses are offered in the evening two nights a week.
- A full-time NAU faculty member and Program Coordinator/Advisor reside on the campus of GCC.
- Students can utilize resources at both institutions.
Prerequisites
- Six credit hours of English Composition
- Four credit hours of Natural Sciences
- Three credit hours of College Mathematics
- Eighteen credit hours of Communication
- Twelve credit hours of Extended Major
Program Requirements
- The total degree requires completion of 120 semester hours.
- A maximum of 64 credit hours from a regionally accredited community college can be transferred.

- Liberal Studies (35 units)
- Major (60 units)
- Electives (25 units)
Personalized Advising
- Contact Norma Peru-Ray at least one year prior to your planned enrollment.
- Provide a copy of all college transcripts for an unofficial evaluation.
- An advisement appointment will be scheduled to review the unofficial transcript evaluation and discuss the program.
