The MEChA club is open to all GCC students.

Movimiento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlán

GCC M.E.Ch.A. was established to promote higher education among Chicano and Latino/Hispanic students and help them in their pursuit of an undergraduate degree. We invite all students to learn about the Latino culture within a bilingual, bicultural environment. Students have an opportunity to explore complex public policy issues, which impact their lives. Students are encouraged to complement their undergraduate education by involvement in cultural and social issues, which are important to the Latino community.

Please take a moment to review our Constitution.

Homeless for the Holidays - Food/Clothing/Blankets Collection
Friday, Nov. 20, noon to midnight, on main campus center mall.
MEChA is sponsoring the annual Homeless for the Holidays program. The project involves collecting donations (gently used clothing, non-perishable food, and bottled water) as they experience the life of being homeless. This is an opportunity for the students to give back to the community as they will donate the items collected to homeless shelters in the valley.  Please stop by and donate blankets, clothing, and food to show your support of our Mechistas and our homeless community. Only your donations will keep us warm and fed as we take on the role faced by many homeless society members. For more information, please contact Gina Desai or Kimberly Mathes.
