Introduction
Message from the President
Greetings!
Welcome to Glendale Community College as we begin our 2008-2009 academic
year! GCC has provided individuals
with a variety of quality learning experiences
since 1965, and we continue to look forward to serving your learning needs. Our
faculty members are experts in their fields of study, and they are here to assist
you in reaching your learning goals. Our dedicated staff members
strive to ensure
that you have a satisfying and memorable
learning experience.
At GCC, you and more than 30,000 other students will find courses and programs
that prepare you to transfer to
other colleges and universities, begin your career
or advance in your current career, complete your degree or certificate, and enrich
your life. You will also have the opportunity to experience a variety of college
athletic programs,
clubs and organizations, social events, service
activities, and activities designed to help you strengthen
your leadership skills.
Whether you are interested in opportunities at the GCC Main campus, the GCC
North site or the NAU North Valley site,
I hopethat you will find our catalog, webpage
and student handbook to be useful tools. All should be helpful in guiding
your
exploration
and discovery of the many resources that are available to you at GCC.
In addition, I invite you to speak
with hundreds of faculty and staff who are here to contribute to your success.
Those of you attending the GCC North site will be the first students to enjoy the renovated original buildings and the
four new buildings that have more than tripled the size of GCC North!
At GCC Main campus, look for the completion and opening of the new, state-of-the-art Life Science Building for the
Spring 2009 semester! Our Biology, Nursing andPsychology departments will be housed in this new, three-story building.
Again, I welcome you to GCC and wish you the best on your academic journey!

Velvie Green, Ph.D.
President
