Veteran Deferments
If you are eligible for veterans benefits you may qualify for a deferred payment of tuition and fees. If you qualify for this deferment, you will be able to pay tuition and fees on the last day of classes or incrementally throughout the semester with the last payment being made by the last day of classes.
To determine if you qualify, please contact
Charles Pierce at 623-845-3363 in Veteran Services located in the
Veteran Services Center.
To obtain a Veteran deferment, the following steps must be completed:
- Go to the Veteran Services Center to determine if you are eligible for a fee deferment. If eligible, Veteran Services will provide the necessary deferment note to be completed.
- Once the deferment note is completed, take the note to the Cashier's Office to be applied to your account.
- All other charges must be paid prior to applying the Veteran deferment to your account.
- Any credits received will be applied toward your deferment and any other encumbrances on your account.
Frequently Asked Questions:
What do I do once I've received my Veteran Deferment?
Once you are granted a Veteran Deferment, it is important that you review your deferment and proceed to the Cashier's Office. From there, a valid state or military ID will be required to submit your Veteran Deferment. Once the deferment is verified your tuition due date will be deferred to the date on your paperwork.
Can I make partial payments for my Veteran Deferment?
Yes. You are allowed to make partial payments on your deferment as long as the tuition is paid in full by your due date.
What will happen if I am unable to pay my Veteran Deferment?
A late fee of up to $50 dollars will be charged to your account and all college services will be suspended until the deferment is paid in full.
In addition, any unpaid Veteran Deferments may be turned over to a collection agency or attorney and reported delinquent to a credit bureau. All collection costs, including attorney fees and other charges necessary for the collection of any amount not paid when due, are the responsibility of the student.
