For each Tutorial in your New Perspectives Excel 2003 text, Sam software provides an interactive training tutorial.  Completing these training sessions will assist you and prepare you for completing assignments and for performing well on tests.

The software is installed on all college computers in the High Tech Centers but you must set up your personal account.  If you previously created an account, you will log into your current account and join the course section shown in the table.  Those students who have not previously had a SAM account for any course should follow the directions on this page and in the SAM 2003 Tutorial.  

The information in the yellow table is the required information to create your SAM account.

If you are completing the course from your home computer, you will first install the SAM software following the directions that are printed on the folder of your SAM CD.  The second step is to create your SAM account as discussed on this Web page.  If you are unable to install the CD on your machine or unable to access your account from home, please call Course Technology's tech support line at 1-800-648-7450 extension 4.  Your instructor's cannot provide technical support for the installation of the software.

Testing and Training Software:

You MUST use Internet Explorer in order for SAM to work correctly. 

1. Run the SAM tutorial to help you set up your SAM profile and understand how to use SAM 2003. 
   1. Click this link Sam 2003 Tutorial  to navigate to the SAM Web site. 
   2. On Course Technology's Web site, look for the link Student Tutorial --Sam 2003.
   3. Complete the tutorial.
   4. After going through the tutorial, close the Internet Explorer window to return to this page.
   5. Following the procedures outlined in the tutorial, set up your SAM profile.  The information required for set up is provided in the next paragraph.

As you set up your profile, you will need this information:

Course Section:	You must also join a section in SAM 2003.  See next paragraph.

In order to have access to the Training and Tests scheduled in SAM,  join one of these sections based on the  semester and section in which you are enrolled.  In the table, locate your semester, your specific course and SAM Section to JOIN.
