Lab InformationEvery student enrolled in CIS105 automatically receives a Shared Course Folder on the "S" drive (a network drive). These folders are automatically created by GCC staff. Throughout the practice exercises and assignments of this course, you will be instructed to save files in your own folder. The text (Lab Manual) often will refer to your data files location; this is your "S" drive in your Homework folder. You should note that these folders are on the S: drive (a disk connected to GCC's network), under a folder named Courses and a subfolder named CIS105 in a subfolder for your course (Year-Term-Section).It's important to know your section number! Finally, there will be a folder with your eGCC login name. The folder is only accessible by you and your instructor. This folder is only available for the current semester and will be deleted shortly after the conclusion of the semester. The path for the "S" drive is: S:\courses\cis105\Year-Term-Section\eGCCloginSaving Your WorkWhenever you are instructed to Save your work, you are to save your work in your Homework folder. If you decide to work at home you MUST bring your work to campus and transfer the files to your Homework folder as your instructor will be checking it periodically. Downloading Data FilesSome assignments and practices will require a file be opened and edited. Each file is listed within the respective lab practice or assignment as well as under the Data Files section. In order to save this file to your Homework folder, click on the name and click on save, select your Homework folder and save the file as the file name you are instructed by the lab manual or the instructions on the lab page.
