Not only have I been teaching at GCC since 1978, but I am also a graduate of the first CIS
degree program offered here. I created the position of the HTC “IA” (student assistant)
when I convinced my first computer teacher, Lyle Langlois, to hire me to keep the computer room open during his absence.
Since I had been a programmer/analyst prior to being at GCC, my specialty has been teaching computer
languages, including C, COBOL, FORTRAN, Pascal, RPG, and Visual Basic.
I have also had the opportunity in recent years to work in industry during many summers.
I work in a great place, with wonderful colleagues, and have the opportunity to meet interesting new people in my
classes each semester. I consider myself very lucky to have a career doing something I love.
