• Two of the prestigious Helios Scholars for 2011 are students of GCC biotechnology program. Carlos Lorenzo and Ryan Richholt are the fourth of GCC's biotech students and alums to be selected for this prestigious summer internship program sponsored by Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen). Helios scholars have the opportunity to work side by side in the laboratory with TGen's first-class research scientists for eight weeks, investigating the genetics of various diseases including diabetes, Alzheimers, melanoma and other types of cancers.
