Requirements to Teach Biology in a Maricopa Community College
- Master's degree in biology or
- Master's degree in any academic field with at least 24 upper division and/or graduate semester hours in biology or
- Master's degree in any academic field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in biology
- Completion of EDU 250 (Overview of the Community Colleges) within two years of hiring date.
If you meet these minimum hiring qualifications and are interested in a part-time teaching position at GCC, you should send a resume, copies of teaching certification and all college transcripts to Stephen Williams (Biology Department) and/or James Morris (Personnel Office). You will be contacted by our department for a teaching interview if your background fits our needs.
If you are interested in a full-time teaching position, you will need to contact the district human resources office for an application.
Please note that the application process for part-time and full-time positions are separate. Openings for full-time faculty positions at any of the ten colleges in the Maricopa County Community College District are posted by the district human resources department. Applications for adjunct (part-time) positions are handled by the personnel office at each college.
